SENIOR PORTFOLIO MANAGER ATTAINS PCAM® DESIGNATION

Frederick, Md. – January 23, 2017 - Keith Stains, CMCA®, AMS®, a senior portfolio manager with Property Management People, Inc., recently achieved the Professional Community Association Manager® (PCAM®) designation through Community Associations Institute’s exclusive national educational program.  To earn the PCAM® designation, Mr. Stains successfully completed a rigorous case study programThe PCAM® is the highest professional recognition available nationwide to managers who specialize in community association management. 

Stains, of Harpers Ferry, WV joined Property Management People in July 2010 as a community manager in the Frederick corporate office and was promoted to Senior Portfolio Manager in January 2015.

Frederick Community Association Manager Earns Top

Industry Professional Credential

Frederick, Maryland – June 30, 2014 — Richard Gemmell with Property Management People, Inc., recently joined an elite group of community association managers who have earned the Large-Scale Manager (LSM®) credential from Community Associations Institute (CAI).  Gemmell is the second individual in the state of Maryland and one of only 63 community management professionals worldwide to have earned this prestigious designation. 

To earn the specialized LSM credential, managers must have ten years of experience in community association management and complete more than 100 hours of coursework. They must also have earned the industry’s highest credential, the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM®) designation. Continuing education and adherence to a code of ethics are also required.

Gemmell is a 16-year veteran with Property Management People, Inc. (PMP) and has managed Spring Ridge Conservancy, a Frederick community of over 1,400 single family homes, townhomes and condominiums, for all sixteen years.   In addition to the LSM® and PCAM® credentials, Gemmell holds CMCA® (Certified Manager of Community Associations®) and AMS® (Association Management Specialist®) designations and has written articles for industry publication.

Headquartered in Frederick, PMP’s Association division provides full management services for approximately 33,000 units in over 85 homeowner and condominium associations in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. PMP’s Rental division provides residential leasing and management for over 400 single family homes, townhouses, condominiums and apartments for individual property owners in the Frederick area.

Rose Thomas Graduates From MAR Leadership Academy

Annapolis, MD (May 7, 2013) - - Rose Thomas, MPM®, RMP®, REALTOR® and Owner/President of Property Management People, Inc., was one of eighteen graduates from the Maryland Association of REALTORS® (MAR) thirteenth annual Leadership Academy honored at ceremonies held in Annapolis recently. Rose has been a member of the Frederick County Association of REALTORS® (FCAR) since 1980 and currently serves as Secretary on FCAR’s Board of Directors.

The MAR Leadership Academy offers an intensive curriculum designed around developing skills in leadership, communications, strategic planning, legislative and government affairs and community involvement. Classes are conducted over 7 months and stress the value of professional and personal commitment to business, charitable and civic endeavors.

The MAR Leadership Academy was formed by REALTORS® who understand the important role they play in their community and the need to enhance the leadership skills, knowledge, and competencies of fellow REALTORS® interested in making a difference in their personal lives and in their communities.

Rose commented, “The Maryland Leadership Academy was an outstanding program that enhanced my communication skills and improved my leadership expertise. The sessions on diversity, business trends and government affairs were insightful and educational. I found the positive mental attitude training to be a powerful experience.”

Chamber of Commerce Award

Property Management People, Inc. was the proud recipient of a Live here! Work here! Award – Small Business category from the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce at their annual awards reception in March 2011. The annual award honors one small and one large company in Frederick County for their outstanding support of education.

Education is an integral part of PMP’s corporate culture; employees educate homeowners, landlords and tenants on current housing legislation, the role of the homeowner association and how to be good stewards of the community. PMP has hosted a student intern through the Frederick County Business Roundtable for Education, and company owners Ed and Rose Thomas have taught classes for the Frederick County Association of Realtors.

Local Property Management Company Earns National Designation

Frederick, MD - Property Management People, Inc., a leading local company in the residential property management field, has been awarded the CRMC® (Certified Residential Management Company) designation from the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM®). This prestigious designation is held by only thirty-five property management companies nationwide and is reflective of the professional commitment made to the industry by Property Management People, Inc. NARPM®, the nation’s only professional organization for managers of single-family and small multi-family residential properties, has over 2,500 members.

Rose G. Thomas, MPM®, RMP®, president of Property Management People, accepted the award recently at NARPM’s annual conference in Orlando, Florida. “Receiving the CRMC® designation is the culmination of our staff’s tireless work in maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards while consistently providing expert service to our clients”, stated Ms. Thomas. The professional designation is awarded to property management companies that demonstrate a high standard in both procedures and customer service. In addition, a detailed examination of the company as well as recommendations from clients and peers are required. In order to achieve this certification, PMP was rated by an auditor and had to meet exacting standards in all areas of operation, from documented policies & procedures to ongoing staff training on Fair Housing and Landlord/Tenant laws.

PMP Recognized in Business Appreciation Week

PMP was recently visited by local ambassadors representing the Frederick County Office of Economic Development in honor of their organization’s Business Appreciation Week. The group discussed the economic outlook and the benefits and challenges of operating a business in Frederick County. PMP owners Rose and Ed Thomas were presented with a certificate of appreciation signed by the Mayor of Frederick, recognizing PMP for its contributions to the economic vitality of Frederick County.

WV Office Grand Opening

PMP Recognized by WV Chamber of Commerce

Martinsburg, WV - July 27, 2014 -Property Management People, Inc., was recently honored by the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon-cutting ceremony during a Chamber mixer. PMP was presented with a certificate of recognition from the West Virginia Office of the Governor for being an outstanding business member in the Charles Town community. The company was honored as a member of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce during the annual Chamber awards June 30 and also received a certificate of recognition for support to the Jefferson County business community from the Chamber at the same banquet. PMP has been in business for more than 34 years. Its main office is in Frederick, Maryland, and it has satellite offices in Gaithersburg, Md., Leesburg, Virginia, and since last December in Kearneysville. PMP has on-site offices in Laurel, Annapolis and Frederick. It manages approximately 100 homeowners’ and condo associations totalling more than 32,000 living units in West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. It also has a rental department that manages between 450 and 500 individual units located in Maryland.
